A changing climate has created the perfect conditions for fearsome nocturnal creatures, dubbed Screechers, to emerge from the earth in unrelenting waves of death and destruction, decimating the human race. Society has slipped away, but two young sisters, Zenaida (Keen) and Samantha (Lorraine), have found a way to survive. Inside an abandonded beach house, they hide in a large reinforced box, strong enough to resist the Screecher attacks should they come. and they eventually do. After years of calm, the sisters realize this small piece of freedom from terror is no longer safe. Before it is too late, they must find a way to travel north, where it is believed some remnant of civilization persists.

Director Jay Hernandez was quoted saying: "With ‘Night Comes’ we have a chance to do two unique things simultaneously. We have a visually stunning exploration of genre, with edge of your seat action coupled with what I see to be a character study in a world where rules, gender roles and order no longer exist. This marks the feature film directorial debut of actor-turned-filmmaker Jay Hernandez (Hostel, Quarantine, Suicide Squad, Magnum P.I. series).
Said to draw inspiration from "such popular genre titles as Birdbox and The Descent."
